Mr. Phillips has been with the firm for over 36 years. He specializes in commercial disputes including first- and third-party property issues, bad faith litigation, products, and complex environmental litigation. He has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry as well as maritime issues.
Mr. Phillips has presented numerous papers and been a speaker on a variety of subjects for the TIPS section of the ABA, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel and DRI. Those subjects include: "Liability for Pollutants During Cleanup Contracts" (ABA), "Insider Trading and Its Potential Impact on Directors and Officers Coverage and Financial Institution Bonds" (FICC), "Financial Guarantees, The Road to Ruin" (FICC), "Dealing with The EPA and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Litigation Related to Groundwater Contamination" (FICC), "When and How to Deny Coverage" (DRI), and "Theories of Concurrent Causation and Efficient Proximate Cause in First Party Property Insurance" (ABA).
